Fifty Plus (50+) - Happy birthday to my Cannondale

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My Cannondale touring bike is 10 years old. It has been to Europe twice, Florida twice, and many other states and provinces. I have ridden her 19,484 km so far and she has served me well. My best bike ever!

What are you buying it for the birthday celebration? Will there be a birthday ride? :)
Nice Cannondale. I can't remember...is that the bike you rode at Finger Lakes?
Ken, If my Cannondales are any example you can expect another 12 years of cycling from your T bike. :) Congrats on using it as intended also.

Sounds like a good reason for pie, what is the C'dales choice?

Yes Beverly, I did take her for a birthday ride, a short but pleasant one. It was the bike I took to Watkins Glen, Louis. My other bike, which I call my city bike, I use around the city for errands on a daily basis, all seasons. It has baskets for carrying stuff and it is beat up enough that it is an unlikely target for thieves. It was my commuter bike when I worked.

It's good to hear about another tourer, other than the LHT. (I own an LHT, but would enjoy having a C'dale.)

Happy Birthday to your bike, Ken! While I'm not normally prone to sending birthday wishes to bikes, I can appreciate your high regard for your trusty steed. Just this week, I had to choose between which of my two bikes I was going to ride for a charity event. I chose the newer one, but felt guilty about leaving the older one behind! :twitchy:

92 Kona- 2000 Bianchi-2002 Tandem--All good bikes but hate to say it- If I am going for a ride- it is going to be on the 5 year old road bikes. Perhaps because the others are all MTBs and that offroading is gradually slipping into memories now.

I think I can understand. ;) Following a New Year's resolution I've sold three road bikes. Which did I keep? The one with the most sentimental value.

With the gear she is carrying looks like she could take you anywhere. Crosscountry if need be. All in comfort. :thumb:
And she is international too. Can't get any better than that! Happy Birthday (belated) ;)
