There's a whole line of Gios bikes still sold in Japan. Most likely made in China or Taiwan, and not up to the same standards as the classic ones.

A bike like that came into the LBS where I work. The brand name on it is Billion. It seems sensible in the space savings, and it looks like a decent rider. The customer is from Japan.

Could those also have smaller wheels for stability when loaded down? Thats what I heard.

I was first made aware of these from a thread posted by Dawes-man. I guess they work for a congested urban environment like Tokyo.
I don't care for the proportions. I much prefer this one with larger wheels. I think they are 24" or metric equivalent.
