I do wonder about these private auctions though, with the cloaked bidder identity, is it not redundant to hide the bidders? Unless one is going to have a shill drive up the bids...

Looks like a Franken-Prix to me. Service fork, and some pretty nice upgrades.

Serial number would indicate 1981 vintage. Did Raleighs ever use Simplex and Mafac? My early 70s Competition used Huret shifters so maybe. "It measures 22" from seat post to stem" - this is handy to know.

I agree that a hundred bucks would be a reasonably good deal

These bikes normally had Simplex DRs.
The Seller lists " Brakes Front/Rear: Weinmann Center pulls MAFAC Racer" brakes. Likely he means the LEVERS are Weinmanns (probably original) and the calipers are Mafac (replaced).

I don't trust the serial number given by the seller. (Too many digits after "NA" (Nottingham, January, xxxxxx) )

It's got the same lugs as my '79 Nottingham Super Grand Prix but mine doesn't have the wrap around seat stays.

My two cents is that it is more likely a Grand Prix than it is an International. The paint color is similar to the Champagane used on the International. However, it does look more like someone took a Grand Prix and installed Mafac brakes and a Sugino Maxy cotterless crankset. Plus the replacement fork.

It is a Grand Prix with enough parts swapped to fool someone into believing...




...that it is a Super Grand Prix.

It is not an Raleigh International! The bicycle is most likely a Grand Prix or a Criterium, both of which featured the full wrap around seat stay. I doubt that it is a Super Course but I could be wrong about that.
