Foo - So, I was gonna write a long rant about being stuck in the hospital...

I managed to get out after 3 days but mostly it wasn't too bad. They had me on a lot of different meds and I think that kept me from eating well. And they had me on some painkiller that was really messing with my head and causing me to hallucinate. when I left they asked me if I wanted a prescription for painkiller and I told them no. It took almost 24 hours for the effects of the painkiller to wear off.

You started with "so", so that other dude is going to hurt you.

I went in to the ER on Thursday evening with severe abdominal pain. After a CT scan spotted a small intestinal blockage, they admitted me.
Thursday night and early Friday were a blur of wonderful painkillers. Late Friday and today were boring. I felt normal again. Everything was "working" again and I wanted to go home. I was told yesterday that I could go home today if "everything came out right", which it did. Then they wanted me to wait until tomorrow to leave.
The doctors only come one a day.... in the morning, and he'd already left. I asked a nurse to contact the doctor and find out why I was to be kept another day. After two hours I assumed they were stalling and I began planning on what to write here. I used the "Posts that start with 'So,'" as a starting point. :P
I had just started browsing Foo and planning my tirade when the nurse came in and told me they were discharging me. It was almost a letdown. :)
I'm on a liquid diet today, and I'm supposed to ease my digestive system back to solid food over a couple of days. Oh, and liquid diets don't include beer. :( I'm home. I had juice & soup for dinner. The dogs are glad to have me back. The cat is glad to be fed again. I get to sleep in my own bed.

Yes, they kept me until I pooped, but even after I pooped a second time they wanted to keep me another night. I had to whine to get discharged. I could have just demanded they pull the IV out and left, but I didn't think that was a good idea.
Then I got out and rode 55 miles this morning. :)

No. I had my wife & daughter come by and take care of the animals. They were just less than punctual. The dogs made one mess and the cat had no food when I got home.
To understand the above, you need to know my wife no longer lives with me. My wife lives a whole 8 miles away. My daughter, about a mile. :twitchy:
