This is now the fourth Miami Vice Centurion that has been placed under my care. Afficionados will understand the obsession over these gold and fuschia bikes.

Robbie and I recently did a very successful and friendly frame trade, me up one size, him down one, and now have bikes that fit. For you, an exclusive on location photo spread.

Here it is, along with my larger model.

That's an ACE, Robert.

Thanks to you, it's great having one that fits.....The wheels needed a home.
Your turn, trekkiller....., and I know there's at least 10 more in this forum.

Robbie, it looks marvelous! What bar tape are you using? I used tape off of a previous incarnation, but need to order the Deda Bright Ocrhe Yellow, which seems to be falling in short supply. I'd like to find a washable yellow that worked. Cork yellow goes gray fast.

The new Bontrager Gel. I was in the same boat on the 58cm, had Bontrager cork and it faded fast.
Yours looks faster. I think you really nailed it with the 58cm. Jerseys would be cool.

LOL, yes, jerseys, with Don Johnson, or, better yet, his totally hot ex wife.

It's uncanny how well those Vento decals blend with the frame color.

Sorry Robbie, I couldn't get through that video. Is that what you kids call music? It's just noise. Early Phil Collins on the other hand...

Oh, and the bikes are just lovely.

Another John Hiatt fan. He doesn't strike me a the cycling type, though his wardrobe choices could indicate such.

I sincerely apologize for getting this thread off topic and into music.

I distinctly remembered that photo of robtown's MV Ironman. It also looks fast just sitting still.
I know there are more. I've yet to see one done exactly in the OEM colors.

I've been to group rides where there were two Ironman bikes, even one with two of the Equipes.

It would be funtastic to go to a group ride and see 2 or 3 of these icons....

Not sure if you meant his ex on the show (Anette O'Toole) or Melanie Griffith.

The vacuuming scene in Working Girl is wrong on so many levels that i think it's brilliant.

Am I the only one who likes 1980's synth music, but can't stand Jan Hammer's work at all? I never thought any of his music fit Miami Vice. Ditto for Hammer's Knight Rider 2000 score - a depressing theme for a depressing made-for-TV movie.

I couldn't watch all the video either but... I guess it's possible that Sonny Crocket is the father of Doogie Howser. He may have slept with his ex wife Caroline Crockett and she got married to Mr. Howser while expecting. Strange huh.

I'm not sure. It is not clearly marked and came off of a '92 Giant CADEX. For some reason, I decided I preferred that look on this build as opposed to the stock Nitto.

Well, I never watched much Miami Vice to be honest, and I haven't seen that movie. I did like him with the Mahavishnu Orchestra though, and I liked what he did with Jeff Beck.

you guys might've seen this, I know some of you have. I'll have a new pic in a couple days with the rest of the dura ace 25th anniversary group on there. Also, the rear disc, as much as I love it, shows a little fracturing I'm not too keen on. I will be running a wheel-builders cover on my Mavic Kyserium. White of course. Gumwall tires. It's gonna be hot.

I love it. Get it finished and show us more. You have given me an idea for an extra Trek 660 I have around -- A Tri bike, but maybe SS. A couple of years ago, I sold a disk wheel. One of the few sales I regret.

Hey guys...yup, that's my new Ironman. It is a little taller than most of my bikes, but that just brings the seatpost down to "fist full" proportions. The top tube is pretty close to everything else I have. I'll probably put on a longer stem, possibly add some wider bars, and change that saddle to a white Concor (then replace that with a white Arione when I find one). Glad to be part of the club! I think this is the first bike I've had that my wife made an unsolicited comment about...she thinks it pretty. :)

Yeah, depending on the top tube measurement, that might be perfect. I normally ride a 58cm ctc seat tube and this one is a 60, but it seems to work out fine.

BTW, apparently you found a Profile Fast Forward post in 27.0That is a 27.2 seatpost. It was all I could find, and it fit, but I know exactly of which you speak. drrobwave has an '88, and it's definitely a 27.0, while I used a 27.2 in my '88 of the same color and model. My '89's used 27.2's. Go figure.

Even worse, my SLX Cinelli Supercorsa is simply NOT going to take a 27.2, now that I've scarred up 2 trying to get them in more than 1/2" It's actually going to use a 26.8
