I was prompted to give you an intro to me. I've been riding for more than fifty years, most of that time in drop bar bikes. My first wheels were on a '57 raleigh trike with rod brakes:) The first true "ten speed" was a 69 Raleigh Grand Prix with (unbutted) 20-30 carbon steel tubing, (plastic) simplex derailleurs and (allegedly at least, friction) DT shifters. The bright spot was the Brooks B17 saddle. Of course I had to work cutting lawns for two summers to save the $98 to get it....and the rest of the bike! Later I had a much nicer 1980 Raleigh Carlton which I mistreated badly during various re-incarnations (the only surviving bits are the sublime Huret DT racheting shifters and Atom pedals with Christophe straps..mmm...very nice!) Currently i have a stock Marinoni (summer), a heavily modified Lemond (winter), and a Soma touring rig (commutes). i always wanted to try a recumbent and recently acquired a used Django SWB to play with/soup up. The Greenmonstr is a lot of fun I must say. Maybe not as fast as my Marinoni, but who cares, I'm more interested in seeing the scenery these days! Look forward to chatting with you!
