BMX - Source for 26" anodized cruiser / BMX rims?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have not been able to find some. I am looking to lace a two-speed Sturmey Archer kickback into a cruiser wheelset.
Thanks in advance for your help

Danscomp (http://www.danscomp.com/) or Albes (http://www.albes.com/) are places to start. There's also this wonderful thing called Google that works wonders when you're looking for something.

Indeed, I have used the Google ;-)
Those two stores had some things close, but no cigar. I have an old school mindset, thinking that BMX cruisers have 26" wheels, but the current diameter tends more towards 24". Sigh. I may just buy some mountain bike wheels and get them powder coated to match the frame. Thanks though, they were good suggestions.

Depending on what MTB rims you buy, the BMX rims would be better...

Well yea, because they're built to withstand a lot, I just hope he's not going the cheap route

The tough ones do not come cheap.
A sturmey archer kick back will not be a wise selection for a bmx cruiser.

Yes, the rhyno lite would be good, or the P35 looks awesome too. I also am now considering the new SRAM automatic instead of the S/A kickback. r.e BMX cruiser, perhaps that's a red herring. I like the aesthetics of these, but have no plans to do anything but cruising. I just love the look of blue anodized accessories on a chrome frame ;-)
