Hello everyone, I would just like to have a little advice on what I should sell my bike for on CL. I'm looking to upgrade and don't want the other bike around.

Anyway, it's a 2009 Jamis Satellite. Steel frame, tiagra rear, sora front, sora levers. I've taken excellent care of it and the bike really is practically brand new. It retailed for about 850, which is what the new ones go for as well, except the new ones are basically identical to the one I have.

I was thinking 400-450. Too high? Any input is appreciated. Oh and also Columbus, Ohio is a very active biking town, so there's a lot of people always out looking.

Here's a pic (sorry for the fish eye effect but it was the only camera I had with me atm, it still captures the bike well imo)

The rule of thumb I've always gone by for late model bikes is half of the current street price. If no one in your area discounts these bikes much at all, then $400 to $450 may be right in the ball park. Of course, you can always bump it up $50 or so to give yourself some negotiation room, and probably not scare prospective buyers off.

Change the bike to a fixie and bump it up to 750!

Seriously though, it does appear as if fixies sell high compared to everything else these days!

It should sell quickly at $450 to $500. Jamis makes nice bikes. People pay more than that for aluminum bikes with no-name components.

Did you follow my advice in your duplicate thread ?
