Introductions - New to forum

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

As an introduction, my name is Larry snd I am 60 yrs old. I rode as a kid and also rode mountain bikes with my kids up until about 8 yrs ago. My mountain bike was too heavy and hard to ride on road with knobby tires and suspension eating up energy. I wanted to ride bike paths and on the road, so having limited resources, I purchased a Schwinn hybrid fitness bike with flat bars. It is the 700c Varsity model and having made a few necessary additions, I love riding it. I am from Toledo, Ohio and I have only been back to riding for a couple months. Longest ride with my wife, Taunia, has been 12 miles, which seems to be her limit at this point. I also enjoy hiking, backpacxking, camping, kayaking and canoeing, as well as snowshoeing and cross country skiing. I hope to leqrn from you folks and really want to get involved with tour rides within Ohio and Michigan. Glad to meet you all...

Hi ahol457, welcome to Bikeforums.
Sounds like you're quite fit & active for a 60 yr old (or for any age, in fact! LOL)... have you checked out the 50+ forum yet?
Welcome Larry.
Gotta add my 2 cents for the 50+ forum. Lots of good folks there, including me. I'm 66.

Yes, welcome Larry. I've pipped you by about 30 minutes becoming a member. I didn't even see there was a 50+ section, and I've got my glasses on for goodness sakes. Or am I saying goodnight?
