Hi, everybody. I'm a former roadie, riding in high school and college, then started doing tris after I graduated after being introduced to them by a coworker. I'm currently bikeless (my last bike was a Trek 2300), but I recently moved into a new house that I just discovered is less than a third of a mile from a trailhead that leads to some (reportedly) good singletrack.
So, I'm in the market for my first mountain bike, and I signed up here because I know absolutely nothing about them - my background is entirely road bikes. The last time I rode in dirt was when I was a kid, bombing around on a BMX bike on some trails in the woods where I grew up. I've also ridden motocross/enduro motorcycles pretty much my whole life, though I don't know how much, if any, of those skills would translate.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
