Is there any disadvantage to having an adjustable stem on one's winter bike? It seems that the adjusting joint is just another place for ice/water/disaster to intrude. Yea or nay?

Unless there is a ton of salt in there I don't see why it would be a big deal. And it would be hard for it to get there anyways since I would assume you have fenders to stop the onslaught upon your face and body. Just keep it greased and I am sure you will be fine, I ride in MN with a non adjustable but some of the bolt heads did rust a bit but I am not too worried.
