Hi from Atlanta!
I'm new to the forums and to cycling in general. In less than a week of lurking, I've already found tons of great information here so I figured it was time to join up :thumb:
I haven't seriously exercised in years, and have developed quite a gut. I used to play soccer at a decently competitive level, but quit due to a recurring ankle injury. Unfortunately, I didn't change my diet as drastically as I should have, and now there's more of me to go around  I tried to pick up running again about a year ago, but my ankle kept telling me it wasn't a good idea. Cycling seemed like a good way to get some low impact exercise, and so far I'm loving it.
My current long term goal is to lose 40 pounds from my peak weight to get back to my ideal (10 down, 30 to go!) and go from complete couch potato to riding a metric century within 9 months to a year.
