Foo - Once uppon a time in Texas...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Friend of mine was crossing Texican territory and noticed a curious road sign. It looked legit by quality of it's construction, but it said something strange. Apparently the sign was there to remind people that slavery and human trafficking is against the law.
The friend thought it was a local joke. But traveling further trough the vast Texican country, he noticed more of those signs.
Now, the friend failed to take a picture or to write down the exact words of the signs (so I could google it), ergo I hereby call upon the Foo Texican Emissaries to help me understand this mystery.
Texas shares a large border with Mexico. Lots of people get brought into this country through Texas, illegally, under false pretenses, and under extremely inhumane conditions. I am not sure I have seen the sign of which you speak, but I understand why it exists and agree with it.

Thinking of hitting a "closeout "sale in Texas?
Oh well, that makes sense. My friend was crossing Texico to visit Mexico and come back. Probably same route that human traffickers would use. I thought it was more of a white/black thing with some rogue Texicans ignoring the outcome of the civil war.

Yep, we have the signs in west Texas. I'll see if I can get a pic of one.

We aren't quite that backwards down here. Some areas may be close, but not quite. :thumb:

It's not over until we say it's over. Was it over when the Germans bomber Pearl Harbor?!?

Sounds like we have another hold out "Johnny Reb"for our Confederate prison on Johnsons Island,Ohio.
This? This is to remind you that people might be crossing the border ... illegally?
