That's not the only instrument I play. I also play the traditional Irish Tin Whistle or Penny Whistle. This is an old Scot Folk Song, "The Skye Boat Song", about Prince Charlie escaping from the Scot mainland to Skye to shelter with my clan, the MacDonalds, during the Jacobite Rebellion in Scotland.

This was my Grandmother's favorite son of all time.

Oh my goodness........I love that sound. And that is such a pretty song, Tom. I hope you can add more to this thread. Very beautiful, thank you for sharing. :)

This is rather uncanny. When I saw the title of this thread but before opening it, I immediately thought to post, "Well I can play the penny whistle....badly" Which is true, but you play it well! After owning pan flute and a penny whistle, I've discovered I don't really have the lungs for wind instruments.

That was nice.

I've got a tin whistle too, one of the original style, black metal with a wooden plug. I inherited it from my Mom. I'm not sure that playing is what you'd call the noise that I make. Though I can do scales. ;) I suppose I should get a book on how to play it.

Well done, Tom.

I bought a few tin whistles while on vaca back in '91...struggled with them for a while but finally gave up - they are truly beautiful sounding instruments in the right hands.
