Bicycle Mechanics - Thank you oh Wizards of DiaComp!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Thank you for inventing the threadless headset. What a marvelous invention! I installed a new fork this afternoon, decided that I didn't like it on that bike and proceeded to swap the fork with another bike. Total time for the swap: 10 minutes. That's removing 2 wheels, removing two stems, removing two forks and reinstalling everything. I think it took longer to get the bikes off the wall than to swap the forks.
I love threadless!:thumb:
Concur on all points. Add: you can swap road bars without untaping and removing the brake levers.
But once you cut the steer tube, you're committed.
But all in all, such a simple and secure system.
