Picked up a GT Legato frame from Nashbar's recent glut and the parts are all here. I decided to go the ten speed route as not only did I get a smokin' deal on some Microshift 10 speed levers (my preferred lever, $75 new), but the Tiaga 4600 is readily available.

I also went with an FSA compact crank, the Tiagra 12-30 cassette and the PC-1031 chain as well as a FSA 'The Pig' headset. All other parts will be coming off my current road bike: 105 front derailleur, Sora rear derailleur, Easton bars,Tektro mini-V calipers, carbon cross fork, Crank Bros. Candy-1 pedals, Nashbar GR2 saddle, Forte Titan wheels and everything else (seatpost, stem) no name. Here is the intro:

Yep, I have Microshift on my 'cross rig and on a road bike; they shift perfectly, are as light as DA and work just as well. Best part is that if they get trashed in a nasty crash, they're cheap to replace.

did you weigh that frame? Also wondering if the size is measured c/c or c/t?

I am discovering that information on anything but current year GT stuff is for some reason hidden from the public. I called what number I could find for GT and they had no clue, their website archive is broken, and Nashbar has no infos. The frame feels really light for what it is: My Felt X-City frame feels about twice as heavy. For $49 (now $39 if they have your size) I would buy three more. I do not know the measurements, but I got a 56cm and a 54cm to be safe. The TT is not too relaxed, so I figure the difference in c/c or c/t would be minimal and a stem could fix any disparity. Whichever does not fit me best will be built up and Craigslisted.

Also, the joints have a smooth finish, like carbon fiber. Very cool. I am going to the LBS today to figure out which headset standard I need and will have them weigh it.

Sadly, the frames are going back to Nashbar. The only headset that fits it is the FSA Intellaset, which goes for about $60, and therefore out of my budget. The headset should never cost more than the frame into which it will be pressed.

Not unless it's a Chris King. Seriously, $50 for the frame and $60 for the headset is still only $110. That's a deal in anybody's book. Try not to obsess over little details. You still did well on the deal. You'll never find anything in that price range on CL. Good luck
