My frame has built in brake cable guides. For the rear brake, it has one at the front of the top tube and one at the rear of the top tube.
1) What do you call those metal cylinders that are used at the cable ends when the cable and housing go into the cable guide but only the bare cable exits? If it's a ferrule, what type is it? I see various types of ferrules and want to make sure I get the right parts.
2) When the bare brake cable is on the top tube, my Stumpjumper had these rubber "donuts" that kept the cable from coming in contact w/ the top tube. What are those called?
Any sources for these parts?
Thanks.

1) Yes, those are ferrules. More specifically, cable housing ferrules. You just have to worry about getting the right size for brake vs derailleur cables.
2) Those are usually called cable o-rings.
You can find this stuff, with pictures and more info, at http://biketoolsetc.com. http://loosescrews.com may have the stuff too.

Ferrules. Which ones you need depends upon the cable housing diameter.
