Hello guys,
I have a frame that uses recessed brakes mounts. I know there is a sleave/adapter that is available so older nuted brakes can be used. Any ideas of where I can find some?

A short length of 5/16" x 0.035 tubing pressed / loctited into the recess hole will do the trick. This is a standard size sold everywhere.
The other thing you can do is buy a standard recess brake nut and drill it out to 6mm (1/4" will do).

Or you can trade your nutted for recessed. What calipers are they?
As noted, just drill the threads out of the recessed nuts. File the heads flush if they protrud from the brake boss.

here is the magic answer http://sheldonbrown.com/caliper-brakes.html#mounting
simply:
Drill out the back hole of the fork (don't stress it takes very little metal off)
Mount the rear brake on the fork using a long 5 mm hex bolt
mount the front brake on the rear using a nut.
work great I have done this on two bikes

I would try this on any other bike. It's on my Super Mondia, it's been thru enough, don't need to drew it any more.....

Sorry I got it backwards, you want to use nutted on recessed...not the more common recessed on nutted.
Rivendell carries these:

I wonder how much flex these things add to the calipers.

After looking at the PLASITC insert. I took some recessed caliper nuts and drilled them out with a 1/4" bit. They fill the whole up perfectly, and the calipers are in solid.
