Similar style but I am and always have been addicted to Carmegeddon 2. Part race, part first person shooter and part destroying other cars. 8 years old and still my favorite :)...
Looks like fun and looks dang similar :)

Mine will probably always alternate between Doom and Quake.

need for speed, between porche unleashed and underground.
For non sports...everquest2. That game is jsut way too immersive....it's literally digital crack....free pipe and lighter with every purchase.

The game I probably played the most was 'Civilization 2'.
Pretty hard to beat networked FPS's though.

Hard to pick an all-time favorite, GL Quake would be right up there, since it really started it all.
Some highly memorable ones:
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Operation Flashpoint
Ghost Recon
Civilization 2
Quake 2 (kinda cool that it came out about the same time I read Starship Troopers)
Jane's Longbow 2
Fleet Command
M1 Tank Platoon 2
Command and Conquer (the first one)
I guess I'm just oldschool...
I prefer wump(6) (http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=wump&sektion=6&apropos=0&manpath=FreeBSD+5.3-RELEASE+and+Ports).

Have you played Text Based Pong (http://www.karber.net/textbased/pong/default.htm)?
No, until now anyhow. Cool, amazingly simple once you get the hang of it. :-)
