I ride about a 14.5 mile commute (one way) on the side of a 4-lane where there is some debris: coal, gravel, broken glass on occasion, also there is a mountain I have to cross.
I'm looking at the Trek 7000. Can it hold fenders? Does it come ready to install?
Of the 7000, 7100 which would you prefer for the price. I was thinking about the Quick 5, but read that it really has to be rigged going as far as welding pieces on just to get racks on it.
I may still get the Quick 5 and just use a backpack. Its def between the trek 7000, 7100, Fx 7.1, Quick 4 & 5.
Any ideas on this? Keeping in mind it's gonna be used about 3-4 times a week sometimes more sometimes less between 15-30 miles on those days, on the shoulder of a highway.
Potholes and stuff arent' a big deal so I'm not sure that I couldn't just save some money and go without suspension.
Slimrider if you are reading this. I found this bike shop as my LBS the Giant dealer is another 110 miles down the road, literally. If you were wondering why I didn't head to that.
