Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Bridgestone 300 conversion, what can I expect?

Bridgestone 300 is a straight ga. cromoly frame & hi-ten fork. I converted it to 650a alloy wheels and lots of other upgrades.
I have it listed on my local CR at :lol: $300 obo :lol: What do you think I'll be able to get?

You should know in a couple of days or less. Around here, the FG/SS market has been decimated by all the cheap, brand new FG/SS available on the internet. The hipsters can now get any size, any color, steel or aluminum frame, any style bars, modern 700c wheels, new tires, etc., for under $300. Even one of my local bike shops is selling SS for $250.

actually, i think the SSFG market has hit the fan because that fad is on its way out. now all the hipsters are going for vintage 10 speeds.

as for the bridgestone, i don't think youll get any more money out of it if you were to convert it. the frame is lower end, as are its components.

you could raise its value by throwing on expensive ****, by why do that?

I seriously doubt you will get $300 for it ss/fixed gear conversions are way down on the market. Right now were I live in Denver are selling for $125-$200 on cl unless their something really exceptional.

Good, I only have it on CR 'cause my wife wants me to sell one bike.

The FG/SS market is declining along with the trend but gum-wall tires, steel cruiser bars. and a walmart saddle were never really appealing to any but the most ironic hipster. I've attached pics my laziest conversions which I listed at, and got $120 for each. I'm sure I could've gotten more but I would've felt guilty about making a bunch of money on conversions that only cost as much as the 17t freewheel I put on them. All the other upgrades were collecting dust in my parts bin. Listing your bike at $100 or less would be a good way to target short distance commuters and campus kids but at $300, people expect something with a bit more panache.

Bridgestone is a brand with some street cred. Bring it back to what it was meant to be and you'll get a lot more for it.
