Hey
I am getting a new hybrid soon but i am stuck. I am not sure which bike to get, my 2 options are at the moment are the Giant Roam XR 2 or the Trek Montare. I will be using the bike mostly for casual riding on roads and the occasional trail.
Please help me decide what bike to get. If you have one of this bikes please tell me its pros and its cons.

I have been looking at the two links and can say that these two bike are very similar (based on components). Although the frame geometry is slightly different between these two bikes. My advise would be to take each one for a ride and see which one "feels" better to you. Some people may lean one way or the other simply based on brand only. With all things being equal and the ride "feels" the same, personally, I would go with the Trek. Let us know which bike you eventually get.

Anyone have any thoughts on the differences between the Montare or a cross bike as an "all-arounder" bike? I would think the Montare would be able to handle a bit more offroading than a cross bike?

Yes I agree with you but if you may want to think about putting wider tyres on the Montare.
