I have a nice 1983 UO14 that I need to sell, I am in Austin TX visiting my daughter and have no room to store it. I would like to know what a fair price would be.
It is 55cm frame with nice dark blue paint, aero levers with Shimano side pull brakes. The front deraileur is stock, the rear is shimano. Cranks are Stronglight, it has 12 speeds, 27 inch wheels. I also have the original Mafac brakes and rear deraileur to go with it.
I really want to sell it so don't want to ask to much.

The UO14 was a decent, mid-level bike, a good rider but not rare or collectible. I would think that $100 for a good condition UO14 would be a decent balance between selling it quickly, and getting a reasonable amount of its worth. I doubt it's worth the trouble to remount the original brakes and derailleur, since they wouldn't increase the value anyway.

I'll give you $20 for the brakes and derailleur, if you want to sell them separately. PM me if interested. Z

Pictures* would help a lot, but if you just want to get rid of it I'd say $100 sounds about right. Someone should pay that, I'd think.

*If you post an ad on craigslist without pictures, don't expect many serious responses. I usually skip these ads, as they are usually written by people that:

1. Don't respond to my e-mails.
2. Have no idea what they're talking about.
3. Are too much of a waste of time to deal with. By the time I actually see the bike I almost always immediately see that it's not something I want.

Pictures pictures pictures!

Thanks for the info, I will post pictures with my ad. $100 seems reasonable to me.
