Well, I'm at the lake for some sailing and there is no wind! Oiled pond is what the lake looks like and not even a cat's paw rippling across the water.

Not a single boat out on the water. Because they're WEAK! :D
You need to pick up a fly rod for days like those, Tom.

On Erie we would call that a slight 6" chop dangerous to small inflatables.
10 mph southeast winds, sunnny, getting low on brew, headed to dock in Sandusky @6pm.
You're in the wrong place for wind, Tom. We got plenty here in OK- especially now that OU and OSU crushed their respective opponents. The hooting and hollering is starting to calm down, but the beer farts are just starting...

yep...that's good fishing weather.
A couple of friends of mine and I set out for a cruise from Vancouver to Maui in 1982 after we graduated. Got about 200 miles off the coast of Vancouver Island and hit 7 days of dead air. We drank most of the beer and all of the scotch bobbing around. When the wind picked up we went home. So much for that great adventure! :)

THe fishing is bad, too. The lake is down to 58 degrees. We had t weeks of cold and rain. The fish are down deep and not eating a lot right now. I did get a nice sail in yesterday, not fast, but pleasant. I had light enough air to solo the boat. It was a nice change. My Uncle got a pic with his phone, and I'll post it as soon as he sends it to me. He's basically internet incompetent, though, and actually, his secretary will do that when he gets in to the office. :p
He has the newest Iphone, and can barely read his email with it. ;) He's a hell of a sailor, though. He mostly taught me the skills and is the one responsible for the sailing addiction.

Well the winds were quite a bit more than 10mph that day (some of the gusts nearly knocked me over while I was taking pictures), and the water was nice and choppy, but to my untrained eye it didn't look too bad, yet there wasn't a boat of any kind to be seen. My dentist is an avid boater and told me that most of the boat owners here are "fair weather sailors" so I'm guessing that would explain it. I take it back, actually, I do remember seeing one guy setting out in a kayak.
When I worked at the boat dealership, our Mercury engine mechanic could do an awesome wind dance. Maybe you should try doing a wind dance Tom. Film it and post it in here and I will critique it for you, seeing as I have experience in this area.
