Is it a hartebeest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hartebeest)?

"Hartebeest stand almost 1.5 m (5 ft) at the shoulder and weigh anywhere from 120–200 kg (265–440 lb)"

Wait 'til you encounter a moose.

Nah, they just fall on you and crush you when you hit one. The only dangerous time with moose is the mothers with calves.

^^ They are pretty ornery and unyielding sometimes. My only high-speed encounter with one surprised him as much as he surprised me and he fortunately bolted away, instead of toward, me. But young bulls have attitude and will hold their ground sometimes.

The same can be said about young junkyards, as well.

That was an Impala! I don't think the GM version or the ones on the Savannah is good for the sport.

You'll note that I never said they successfully stand their ground.

You have experience dealing with moose ?

They account for more attacks on humans than bears and this usually stems from startling a bull (which usually weighs over half a ton) or getting too close to mothers and calves... if you see a calf you have to be extra cautious as mom will not be far off and will defend her babies vigorously.

Rutting season can be very bad as then bulls become more aggressive.

Best thing is that a moose will not chase you very far as once you get out of their space they will retreat and vanish like ghosts.

Moose look really stupid, too. If I'm going to be attacked by an animal, I prefer it have some sort of intelligent look about it. It would just make me feel better on an emotional level.
