Hello all!
I am brand new to road bikes, having recently crossed over from mountain biking. I am beginning training for a triathlon and am in the market for an inexpensive, reliable training bike that will be with me through this race year.
I found 2 bikes on Craig's List, $220 each. One is an SR Cycle Sport Pro with Suntour components and the other a Schwinn Le Tour II Chicago. The seller doesn't have much additional information other than they're tuned and ready to go. Is it a deal? Or am I going to get an over priced vintage?

Do the ads have any pictures? Can you post links to them? Don't know anything about the SR bike, but $220 is definitely too much for the Schwinn.

I have that same Le Tour II it is a reliable 29 pound bike made for touring. When it sold new in 1977 it was 164.95$
Here is mine I love it, it has 700c wheels and a 7 speed upgrade. I wish it was still stock...

I'd pass on both. The ads have no useful information and no useful pictures. I can't stand those sorts of idiots. The reason they do that is because they know their stuff is overpriced, but want you to come look at it and possibly buy it rather than tell you up front what it really is. That guy isn't just posting one bike, he's a flipper.
If you can post an ad with good information we can tell you whether it's a good deal or not. Without it, we are left guessing and I will always assume the worst on CL (but hope for the best.)

I can see the Schwinn going for about $200 in my market, I think San Diego is probably similar. See if you can talk him down, if you like the bike and it's in good shape.
