My husband & I just got back from cycling the first half of the TransAm: Oregon coast to Pueblo, Colorado. Pueblo to the east coast next year. Don's 60 with COPD, lung lymphoma, 2 new knees, and a new hip (the COPD is the issue as far as riding). He rode a 2011 Trek FX+ electric assist bike, me a 20 year old Raleigh mountain bike. We rode 40-50 miles a day, all motels, no camping gear.

So if a cross country trip is on your bucket list, the Trek FX+ can make it happen!

Thanks for posting the update on the second half. I ride an FX+, and followed the first half of your tour. I'm looking forward to living vicariously through your blog while I dream about my own transcontinetal tour.

Safe travels!

Thanks guys. Love spreading the word that the FX+ makes touring an option for those whose health isn't the greatest.

Thanks MK. Up bright and early this morning to take the RV to the fixit. Then laundry, gym, and beach!
