Does anyone know if my shimano 600 lever will shift a triple. I know the current Ultegra will.

The lever will work fine. Shimano 600 front levers were friction so you won't have any problems. The lever may have to be moved back a lot but it will work. You may however have an issue with the front derailleur. I would try it with what you have at first and if it doesn't work you may have to get a triple derailleur.

My 600 DT friction lever works with triples. It shifts a Suntour front mech between a 28 and 48, with plenty of movement to spare.
