Southern California - my bike and i have lost our oneness

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i just feel like my bike is fighting me right now and its hard to explain.the first 7 months we were one unit now i feel like i just cant get comfortable like i was.i know its odd.im messing with the seat height because maybe the carbon on carbon is slipping a bit but i cant really pin it down.i dont have the funds for a real fit right now but the first 7 months i never had a fit either.anyone go through that?i might try moving the saddle forward or back but the fact is i have no idea what im doing in that respect.real weird.feedback welcomed and yes i set myself up for some pretty solid bashing in here with this post but who cares.

I think you need a more expensive bike.

Budget bikes in Eagle Rock will do a genral fit for 25 bucks, it's a stactic non laser fit but maybe able to straighten you out a little.

If you start changing things, make sure to record and or mark where everything was before. Its easy to get everything all moved around and not be able to get it back. There is a lot of info on fit online too, but for $25, I'd go that route.

Tony or Oscar are the guys for the fits by the way. Tony is good but Oscar might be a little better.

Not bashing you, just giving you the best advice possible. Put it on a credit card if you have to, steal it from your mom's dresser, or spend a month living on ramen noodles: you need to get your bike fitted.
Don't skimp on this. I wasted decades riding with a poor fit, while blowing money on tubular tires or the latest stupid Oakley sunglasses. After my fitting, and some guidance from Nate Loyal at Helen's Bike Shop in Pasadena, I'm now MUCH stronger and faster at 42 than I was in my 20's and racing and riding insane miles. (Part of that is admittedly because I was overtraining and not sleeping at all.)
Continuing to ride on your expensive bike without getting a thorough pro-fitting is a serious mistake. Make this fitting a priority.

Make this fitting a priority.first of all bashing me is all you did when i came in here and i held back on you for not wanting to become what i condemn.secondly your a youngster compared to me so i think taking money from my mommy who has passed away might a bit impossible.lastly your advice about getting a fitting is great but as usual your condescending posts are really annoying.you can advice insult free id like to know it really is possible.its a shame you are so rude to me because the fact is your very knowledgeable and i could learn a lot from you but do to my self respect i cant deal with ya.i wish you the best and be safe.

I find this hard to believe, not that Chris is an old man, but that you're not a young kid

And btw, you should have taken Chris's advice for what it was "advice" "stealing money from your mom was just sarcasm to illustrate just how important it is to get a bike fit.

Thanks Genaro. That is indeed how it was intended. I originally typed "hold up a liquor store", but toned it down. No malice or snideness was intended at all C4Me. Honest!
I'll keep my advice to myself from now on and go back to ignoring your requests for feedback.
