Just wanted to introduce myself. Only just started biking again back in April this year after not cycling for many, many years--I'm 53. Right now I'm using a hybrid/comfort bike, Diamondback Edgewood LX. People from the LBS keep saying that I should get a road bike--the owner and several of the employees have seen me on rides and they've actually stated that I ride the heck out of what I have. At present I ride 20 miles a day 5 to 6 days a week at a pretty good clip for an upright(today I had my best time of 1 hour 11 minutes 23 seconds~16.8mph overall avg--on mixed terrain(level and several hills). Anyway, I found these forums and figured it would be a good place for sharing experiences and seeking advice.

Cheers Bikey Mikey, welcome to Bike Forums. You barely qualify for our 50+ subforum (http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php/220-Fifty-Plus-(50-)) :) - have a look in there if you didn't already.

I think riding the heck out of what one has is a good principle.
