Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - mid 70's randonneuse (belgian shopbuild)/ framemaker ? value?

Dear fellow members,

I bought yesterday this "randonneuse" together with another bike in a garage sale.
I do not know what to do with it ? Dismantle and use parts for my next winter project or resale ?
I believe its a belgian shopbuild but i've no idea of the framemaker. I guess it could be italian due to BB shell width of 68mm. BTW, I never saw a BB shell drilled like this, it bears two stamps a sort of "o0o" and "774". The only sticker on the frame relates to the Reynolds fork blade.

components :
hubs, seatpost 27,2mm, brakes and lever, shiftlevers, and front derailleur, headset : all campy record.
Brooks professional saddle
crankset stronglight 99bis (triple chainring whereas the two outers are drilled)
rear derailleur is a shimano 600
Mavic rims "Module E2"
and an interesting dynamo "dynapower" clamped under the lugs at the rear of the BBshell.

There's no dent or chip or major scratches on the paint but in some areas (near the dropout and under top tube)there's rust pit under the paint.

What do you think about ? Any though on frame origin?

Not sure what it is, but that BB shell is definitely interesting. I have never seen that before.

No idea what it is, but I like it a lot. The drilled shell is very questionable at least the holes on the upper side of the shell but I think its cool, in a ultra high maintenance kind of way. I think you should sell it and be willing to ship it here to the USA.

don't take it apart sell it whole. my understanding is that lots of the big bike shops in Belgum had frame built for them in Italy but who knows with 531 this could have been built in England.

I do not know what you paid for it but with tires and good cleaning I am sure you can easily recover the cost selling it whole.

+1. Looks like a lot of craftsmanship went into this bike, and was outfitted with high end parts. Obviously a top-notch randonneuse in its time, but left to decay

Don't sell the bike whole. Unless the bike fits you, I would part it out and salvage the Campy and Stronglight parts that are still usable, and keep them or sell them. Then sell the frameset with fenders and rack, it might fetch a decent sum on FleaBay. Heck, that front rando bag alone will fetch >$50 on FleaBay, and that mildewed Brooks will fetch close to that as well.

The only inconsistency I see is that the Reynolds decal on the downtube is a newer period style than the bike, and should be on the fork blades, not the downtube. But the 27.2 seatpost size is consistent with non-metric Reynolds tubing, and suggests the bike is not French.

After further inspection i noticed that the fork have a sloppy paintjob under the fork lug. It may indicate that the fork is a later replacement. Is this reynolds decal means post 81?
It may be a frame made in belgium with parts coming from outside. Many LBS maked frame in the 70's in belgium.
