Mountain Biking - The New Ride!!! Taking it out later today to test her out.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So, for everyone that read my old thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php/769878-The-End-of-My-MTB-Season!?highlight=) about my old walmart bike that committed suicide and tried taking me with it, I said that I had ordered a new frame and some other stuff and would post the finished product. Well here it is.
All the new stuff that I got to go with the new frame
seat post - old one didn't fit new frame
brakes - Avid bb5 disk (F&R)
seat
fork - "sorry Ed, I had to go with Suntour:innocent:" Just couldn't find a RockShox that fit in my budget and really wanted a front suspension. The fork really isn't that heavy, but the compression is nowhere near as smooth as the Dart 3 that I had and wanted to use:(.
Here are the pics.

All I have left that I would like to replace is the rear derailleur shifter, and the front wheel, just need the money. And since it doesn't really effect the performance of the bike that much it probably won't happen till next year.
You can't ride until you take out the garbage . . .

Would love to, but like I said, I can't afford a better fork right now....
Planning on doing that when I take the bike out to put it on the car rack. :p

if you don't mind me suggesting....
i would get better pedals. you can get a good set of wellgo flat pedals for about $40, they will be much better than the pedals you have now and will make you ride better. that might be a more important upgrade than a front wheel or derailleur right now.
oh, and enjoy your new kick ass bike. let us know how the ride went.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, pedals are also on the list. They are actually the next thing I wanna get, I've just been holding off cause I kinda wanna go clipless, just can't afford any of shoes at my LBS or REI currently, and I don't trust buying shoes online b/c I wear size 14 extra wide. And actually, the rear derailleur is new, it is the shifter that I want to replace, and that is just because I have a 8speed rear cassette and a 7 speed shifter. I just wanna be able to say that I have that extra gear.

I am stoked. Just got back from a small single track at it was awesome. Going back tomorrow, and going to try to make it a habit to do a ride at least one weekday a week during the morning before my classes. Can't wait to get in better shape and be able to start riding tougher stuff (I'm really out of shape and proved that to myself today .....:o.......

Nice man! If it were me, I'd replace the pedals way before the front wheel, unless the front wheel has something wrong with it. They will improve your ride x100.
Your old topic reminds me of this group ride I was on once. One of the guys had a Walgoose, and he upgraded things as they broke. Some of the stuff was nice too...Recon fork, XTR RD, some kind of Hayes hydros, etc. I guess he was finding deals online or at bike swaps...otherwise I don't see why he wouldn't have just bought a complete for the price of some of that stuff. Said he was looking for a reason to replace the frame, but the current one was still going strong. Well, he cased pretty hard partway through the ride, and from the way he was looking at his bike, we thought he had finally destroyed the frame. Nope, he had just taken out his brand new XTR derailleur!
