I picked up a Paramount Track bike that is stamped BROWN on the bottom bracket and there is also a stamp that looks like 3 flower pedals. I know it was raced in WI by a man named Steve Brown in the 70s. It is so sweet. Campy parts everywhere. How do I date this bike. The campy dropouts are stamped but I don't see numbers. I think it may have been a custom build. I was able to take a picture of a picture of Steve Brown racing on this bike on a track. He passed away and his wife said he was racing in the early 70s when the picture was taken. The bike was repainted she said and there is no head badge. The paint is real nice and the only stamps are the campy drop outs, the 3 pedaled flower, and BROWN under the bb where a serial number would be. Any help with info would be cool and I will take and post pics

If it's a seventies vintage Paramount it should have the serial number stamped into the left (non-drive side) track end. Here, H7268 identifies this Paramount as the 68th Paramount scheduled for production in August, 1972.
Can you post photos of the bike?

Thanks Stan!
Great info.
The bike is stamped with the previous owner's name. Would that mean it was a custom size?

There are two ways to find out if it's custom.
1) Pay $50.00 to get a provenance report (http://waterfordbikes.com/now/home.php?newstype=provenance) from Waterford. You can order it by phone: 262-534-4190, or
2) Measure the frame to see if it conforms to one of the stock P14-0 sizes described on the geometry page above.
