Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Campagnolo Nuovo Tipo High Flange Wheelset Value?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I tore down and cleaned up an old Campagnolo High Flange Nuovo Tipo wheelset. Laced to Mavic Rims 700C. Any ideas what you think would be a good BIN on eBay? Looking at doing the BIN with Best Offer. Just not sure where to start the price at, as if you start it to high you tend to scare off potential customers.

I had a near identical set and could not get a single bite at $150.00 USD on Ebay. You might be better off trying to sell them locally, through Craigslist or something similar.
Hope that is a help.

Those show very nice. But the market behaves is a curious way. If you look up the completed items on ebay for just the tipo hubs or a single hub, sometimes even with skewers a la carte.. more money can be found that way, cost of shipping?
The rims apart also might fetch a smart sum, but not assembled for the most part.
Maybe you can be the exception.

Sometimes shipping is a deal killer for me on wheelsets. I might be willing to pay $-- but I'm not willing to pay $-- plus $30 or $40+ for shipping.
I agree that you might be better off trying to sell locally on craigslist.

You could probably get nearly as much for just the hubs as you could for the wheelset, and with much cheaper shipping.
I have a set of these hubs; I like them.

I sold a set of Tipo high flange hubs a few months ago for around $70.
Agree with the others, try local first.

I know people do look for those ModuleE rims, but I have no idea what their value is. But I would check out demand for those.
Edit: I see they are Module 3, not Module E. So I really don't have an idea on value.
Thanks for all the ideas. I think I may just tear them back down and try to sell the hubs seperate. Give them another quick shine and pop some more photos. Think it would save quite a bit on shipping costs.

Maybe it's just a backwards "E" - my kid does that.
