Hello everyone. I'd like to start our by saying that I am not "new" to bikes and that just like 95% of you I had sever as a kid. I was always tinkering, adjusting, trying to find the perfect mag wheels to fit, tuning the brakes, etc. That was more than a few years back and I moved onto cars. I am now in the military and I'm currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan. I own a Trek 3700 that I bought to ride trails at my last base, but I have found that it doesn't perform well on the road. I am interested in bringing a road bike from my youth back to life with new parts as a healthy living/commuter bike, but on a budget. Which is one of the reasons I joined this forum; the other, I will post about in the disgruntled section (if there is one!) with more detail. Happy riding!
