Coopa is what my grandchildren call me. #1 grandson trying to say "grandpere" came out coopa and it stuck. Now I ride with a 5yr old grandson and 10 year old granddaughter, and XX yr old wife. Sometimes others join us. I've been riding my 30 year old Univega Viva Sport but after a recent excursion to Martha's Vineyard where I rented a hybrid with a tag-a-long for the 5yr old I see the need to get a more upright bike for stability. I picked up a tag-a-long from craigslist Saturday and hope to see a Trek700 tomorrow. I appreciate the many posts I read from folks who value the ride more than the bike. I have a LBS almost across the street from my house and stopped in today to see what I could learn. I learned that I need to keep searching on craigslist for a decent bike that I can afford.

My wife got a new Fuji 3 speed Cruiser bike this Spring and after last weekends island trip decided she wants a hand brake on her bike. It has coaster now. Based on the attached picture does that look like a mount for a hand brake on the back? Her bike is probably a 2010 or 2011 model as I paid more like $300 for the bike. This is her first biking in probably 20+ years, while I've done a little here and there over the years, but now that I have some companions I can keep up with I plan to do a bit more riding. Maybe even the PMC next year.

Welcome Coopa. Enjoy riding with the grandkids.

Sorry but that looks like a mount for a rear rack to me.
