How about neither?

I fill Coke and Pepsi machines on a college campus, and I will say, without a doubt, that Pepsi is the more popular of the two (which, obviously, says something).

However, they both suck. The mid-90s Cherry Coke (before they changed the flavor and the graphics on the can) was by far better than both of them. Not that it matters much to me anyway, since I haven't had a soda in nearly two months now.

Coke. I hit the Coca Cola Factory nearly everytime I go to Atlanta - love that town.

Can't vote on this. The question specifically relates to the broadbrush "any product of their's".

Coke seems to be the revival drink for long-distance riders, despite all the science associated with insulin spikes, high GIs and bonks.

Coke is my favourite rehydration and randonnee drink (after water). Pepsi just doesn't do *it*. But I am not a fan of either of the companies' other products, ranging from carbonated through to still waters, plus the usual Gatorade/Powerade variants.

Rethink the poll hi565, or your specification in your initial post, and you may get a better picture from the responses to report back to Coke/Pepsi.

Yeah, carbonated drinks are bad for your teeth, and the sugar is rarely beneficial to your health. Water is fine. Or milk. :)

Water or unsweet tea. I have a Coke about once a month when I go see a movie,or if I'm running a fever, that's the only time I crave one. I work outside in Tennessee summers, so I've fallen out of the habit of soft drinks for hydration.

very skewed results so far. Since the companies obviously don't have such a skewed difference in their command of the market, what does that say? Why would cyclists prefer coke over pepski? I don't get it.

So Coke or Pepsi is too unhealthy, but beer is just fine?

When the coice is between Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola, I opt for Pepsi. The wife loves Coke. My actual regular drink though is Fresca, a product of Coca Cola. I drink tons of it.

And the phosphoric acid in both is known to lead to weakening of the bones. Being as cycling is a non load-bearing activity, this should be something to be concerned about.

BurlySurly

The only relevant things you could add would be RC and Sam's Choice or something. This is a poll of Cola's not "Which drink is the ultimate" dont back down. Be a man and stick to your guns. Screw that mineral water crap.

Maelstrom,

Is it still possible to take up on your offer?

if so, can you add the stuff that was recently suggested if possible.

Damn I wish i was a mod. Oh well

Coke . But I hate it...A caffeine junkey in any form...Think aspartane rots your brain. If only I were a better shopper, I would stock up at work with juices and leave the vending machine alone...Anyone try Pomogrante juice..Some call it a miracle juice.

Well, the only time I worry is when I'm making a Cuba Libre. It has to be coke. Otherwise, whichever is on sale.

I have a rule for myself. I can't have a diet coke (which I otherwise am addicted to) until I have an entire liter of water. Then by that time I'm so NOT thirsty that I don't bother!! Unless I go to the movies, where I have to have the big ass diet coke, so I am forced to get up in the middle of the movie and go pee!!! TMI, I know.

I don't care for plain water s oI drink watered down tea with a little spenda. or diet pop like 7 up or others that are about the same. coke or pepsi and such really give me heartburn.
though I like both I can't see ithe silly argument abotu what one is best. it seems it's what you grew up with that is the big difference.

You'd think that. Once, my buddy wanted to make Cuba Libres, so we sent our other buddy to the store. He came back with Pepsi, and my buddy lost it. We didn't have Cuba Libres that night... just chinked open some beer instead, while he muttered in the corner.

When I was younger (early teens), I used to drink cola every day.
I could easily distinguish between the various cola brands available here at the time.
Pepsi and Coca were quite different, and I definitely preferred Pepsi at the time.
Probably because it was slightly sweeter, and not as bitter.

In 1993, I stopped drinking them from one day to the next.
The caffeine made my heart race and I had migraines several times a week.
When I stopped, the problems did too.
Haven't touched the stuff since. And I never drink any coffee or tea either.
