I recently just got another bike; a univega grantech aluminum. Im currently shopping for new tires and tubes for the bike, but being fairly new to the biking scene, im a bit confused on what size tubes i should get. My tires are supposed to be 700 x 23c, but when i went to the store they offered a 40mm valve and a 52mm valve. Im not sure which one im supposed to get... ANY HELP APPRECIATED! :D

Longer valve stems are for aero rims, which you probably do not have.

You could take one of the original tubes to the store.

Valve stems are made in various lengths to fit rims with different sections. Shallow "box section" rims use a shorter stem than "deep section" aero rims. Unbless you have aero rims, the shorter stem will be the better one.
