Classic & Vintage - Looking for Masi Decals

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi, I'm new to this here site. Thanks for having me :D
I'm looking to restore my 84 Masi Gran Criterium.
Mine was red (twice repainted to keep rust at bay)
Looking for decals, any help appreciated!
Thanks

Correct decals for your bike can be had from any of 4 painters in the San Diego, CA area... Thing is though, they don't supply them without painting your frame.
Most painters that have the decals won't send 'em to anyone they don't know well, especially when you want 'em for a very high-end name like Masi. It's just too easy for someone to put Masi decals on say, a Nishiki, and try to sell it to someone not knowing what a Masi looks like...
Cycleart in the San Diego area will have them. They supposedly can make decals for any vintage bike. Don't know if you need them to paint your frame first. I had an '85 Gran Criterium but sold it after a divorce. It was one of the worst things I've ever done (selling the bike, not the divorce).
Might be a long shot. Try speaking with Chuck at Pacific Coast Cycles in Oceanside, California. He used to work for them.
Cheers.
Talk to Brian Baylis at Vintage cycle studios (http://www.vintagecyclestudios.com/index.html)
He worked at Masi California early on, and is an acknowleged experienced mais expert.

Thanks for the help, sorry to be so slow to reply, just off over the holidays.
If I provide proof that this is a Masi, do you think any might relent? Would this also possibly just be a way to get me to pay them to paint the bike?
I also don't have any plans to sell the bike, just restore to it's original splendor.
Thanks again and happy new year.
Thanks Chongo, they do want me to pay for the paint job too.
Thanks, I'll try speaking with him.
Thanks Lotek, I will try to reach him.
