I am a hiker/climber that injured myself a couple years ago and can no longer walk, hike, or bike much. I am desperate to get back on the trail, and so I've come to the conclusion that an electric mountain bike is probably the way to go. The only problem - I know very little about bikes.
If anyone could help make some recommendations for me I'd appreciate it a ton. Here's what I'm looking for:
a) Around $2-$4k - flexible on this one, but would obviously prefer cheaper if possible
b) Full suspension off road bicycle
c) Pedal assist and throttle
d) Can get me up and down steep trails
e) Powerful long distance battery ( ability to do 8 miles uphill at 4000 feet gain would be nice)
f) Reliable, won't break down
Me = around 140 pounds, some experience working with electronics, not afraid to get my hands dirty
So basically I want something like an optibike, but much cheaper. The e+ m-750 2.0 seems like a interesting choice, and I love the convenience of a folding bike, but that's closer to $4k and the distance I'd get with the battery seems a little low. If I could build something better for cheaper that would be the best option
Any ideas would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!!!
