Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Welp a few months back I pulled a chump move on myself, bought a bright orange pretty peugeot without really looking it over and taking the word of the previous owner (lessons learned don't bother chastising me). Turned out rear wheel was tacoed, front had a bent axle/QR or whatever the heck that system is on those, somehow overlooked two broken derailers and the fact it was cottered.. then it turns out the fork of course is also bent as is the rear triangle, welp I've had it. I've wanted a bike rear triangle stool for a while now, and within a couple hours I should have a comfy one. I would have posted this in C&V but I value my life.

I wouldn't call it finished yet, but damn close. Couldn't bring myself to actually cut through the lugs themselves.. and I'm considering riveting on a strap for carrying and possibly something like an axle spacer for the rear, just to keep the spread even.

Add an axle and some small wheels and you could lean back to roll around the shop.

you should consider spreading the stays to make the rear triangle more stable.
looks good.

I have made several of those from frames with cracked head tubes, broken stays or
other non repairable defects.

Actually I think I have some casters the wheel/axle/motor/battery combo from a kids power wheels.. if I can get it stable this just might become a motorized shop stool
