Can anyone tell me if the BBT-10 is necessary for Hollowtech II installation? There's no mention of it in Shimano or Park Tool documentation as far as installation goes and I can't quite figure out if it's needed for the installation.

The description is as follows:

The BBT-10 is a shop quality tool designed to remove and install the adjusting caps on Shimano Hollowtech II crank/bottom bracket systems. Made from investment cast steel, the BBT-10 provides the strength and leverage needed to remove seized caps.

I usually use it just for the spindle-cap function, it's a very precise fit and can bust the cap loose when it's been overtightened at the factory. To install the bearing cups with this tool, drive it with an 8mm hex key or socket.
