Recreational Cyclocross and Gravelbiking - Tyre - what the?
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So I was all set to put on my new wheelset with new tyres. Ultegra Open Pro on the back, 105 and CXP 21 on the front. Got the new tyre, a folding bead Ritchey Speed Max, on the back rim, no worries. I then spent the next 45 minutes struggling to get the exact same tyre on the front. What the hell? I finally gave up in disgust. Has anybody ever come across this kind of bollocks? Any suggestions or tips to take get the bugger on? Thinking of taking the wheel and tyre in to Performance to see if they can get it done.
I've heard people suggest warming the tire in the oven. I've never tried that, but I did have luck with a hairdryer on some extremely tight MTB tires a bit ago.

I had the same problem with putting Conti GP 4000s on my road bike. I bought this and it worked like a charm. I tried putting them in a clothes dryer, baking in the sun (I live in Florida) and the hair dryer. I couldn't put them on until I got this tool. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=kjrmc&cp=15&gs_id=2m&xhr=t&q=bicycle+tire+levers&tok=i1VgTLtosba0Rw1aMAI0Jg&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1229&bih=660&wrapid=tljp1319376075893041&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=81925531553474953&sa=X&ei=0hSkTv3XL8i1twfQubWiBQ&sqi=2&ved=0CI4BEPMCMAE##
