Foo - Do you think the Bikeforums counters lie?

Im seriously curious about this. It'll be like 3 in the morning and it'll say (96 People viewing) the MTB forum or something, but no one has posted in forever and only like two of them are registered members. WTF are these lurkers doing? I dont believe they're really there.

People like me leaving the pc on and forgetting to logout :)

Seriously, though. From what I understand, the people who are the "guests" we don't see are coming through the google search engine. They are in the archives looking at old threads, so they're not even really "in" the forums. I mean, they are in the forums, but they're looking at archived threads. If you ever look at the archives, it looks pretty funky, and nothing like what we've got here.
