This time of year I have a few favorites I like to watch…
It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
South Park Spooktacular
Hellraiser I, II
Nosferatu (the one with Klaus Kinski)
Trick r Treat…side story…I was alone watching this for the first time last weekend. The movie was coming to a really tense part when a lost pizza delivery driver knocked on my door. Scared the crap out of me.
Paranormal Activity...the last horror flick that really had me riveted.
Starship Troopers
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Lamplight

Arsenic and Old Lace
I have a DVD box set of about 50 old horror movies and I've only watched may four or five from it. I may have to catch up on that.

"The Shining" -Not really a Halloween movie, but Jack just does a great job going psycho and terrorizing the lodge.
Tim Burton's "Sleepy Hollow" - Good entertaining movie with some great visuals. No headless horesman, but Christopher Walken does a great job as the 'spirit' of a wronged horseman who terrorizes the small town seeking vengence and closure.

When I was growing up, every year it was always the Wizard of Oz. But somehow, on a small black and white TV set, I didn't understand what all the fuss was about.
I didn't see it in color till I was 21 and we showed the movie at the pizza parlor I was working at. It made the crew insane that whole week. Everyone turned into munchkins and the Firesign Theater (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-uMzALKgHI&feature=related) which normally dominated our conversations was forgotten for a week.
I guess if I were to update my choice, I'd go for Nightmare Before Christmas.
I almost forgot about Army of Darkness.
Yeah!

There's about as many great one liners as DVD versions to choose from.

There was a show on the other night where Stephen King was talking about various horror movies and their influence on him as well as his books that were turned into movies. He talks about how he and Stanley Kubrick disagreed on "The Shining". I knew he didn't like Kubrick's version but it was interesting to hear King talk about it.
