Hello all. I've been in the market for a new bike and have come across these forums quite a bit in my Google searches for information. I figured it'd be a good idea to just register lol.

Anyway, long story short, i've ridden bikes since childhood and had a "decent" dept. stroe mtb when i was a teenager. I used to love taking the thing out on dirt roads and trails for hours at a time. Then i graduated, started college, and moved to a different state.

I'm a fitness junkie, and i want to start riding again. I love walking and jogging in parks and trails, so i figure i'd be able to go faster and further on a bike. I've been looking for a very cheap starter bike to run into the ground until i can afford to get a higher end model. Anyways, I look forward to lurking these forums and learning all that i can!

Howdy, as you may have already read;
most folks here will recommend that you go
to a few bike shops. They usually have
better quality bikes than the big box stores;
you'll get some kind of fitting and a warranty.
