Well, the rain we had yesterday has caused some of the flying insects to swarm.

I don't really like the taste of flies, but they finish neat...and usually have a more pleasant aftertaste.

But I tell you...I got this little green bug looks a lot like a common ladybug, but this one was green. I was riding down a hill close to my house today, and man-o-man, I got one of those suckers in my mouth. I spit it out pretty quickly, but it cropdusted my tongue, and the damage was done.

Good gawd, that thing put about a 30 minute spanky taste in my mouth, that I can only imagine a turd would taste like. What was worse, was that it made my eyes well up with water and my nose burned for about 5 minutes.

Anyone know what that thing was? Like I said it looked like a green ladybug....but this was no lady.:p

Ugh, I hate eating bugs. Except for mosquitos, and only because it feels like revenge.

I was sleeping and had a stink bug spray (or whatever the hell they do) right on my upper lip. Just about got sick.

Both of these bugs were probably just defending themselves to keep from getting eaten. Worked, didn't it? :lol:

No that's not the one. This thing looked exactly like a ladybug, but it was an olive green color instead of orange. black spots and all.

I've come across the green ladybugs as well. There was a big swarm of them one year as we were touring down the Pacific coast just south of Cambria. Fortunately I kept my mouth closed and was able to avoid ingesting any, but they landed all over my arms and legs.

Ladybugs, either the usual orange or these green ones, are toxic, so it's no surprise that you didn't like the taste. Their bright coloring and distinctive dots serve to remind potential predators that they're not good to eat.
