I got a few rides on a road bike with 165mm cranks, now I'd like to replace my current crank and external BB: 170mm FSA gossamer 38/48. I'm mostly solo riding, not fast, and its generally flat here. I basically never get out of the 38. FD is ultegra 6600.

The shimano CX70 (36/46) is supposed to come in a 165mm, but I don't see it available yet. Is it just too early? A 36 or 38 inner and 44 or 46 outer would be right for me. A single 40t or 42t might work too. Any ideas? The best deal seems to be a closeout Rival 165mm compact, then buying separate rings.

higher prices stuff for pro level is offering more arm lengths.
though you could adopt low cost 3 piece BMX cranks
they stop at 170, and offer from 150, up to that..

Or Top Shelf.. TA. the French company offers a lot of arm lengths.
Peter White deals with TA stuff.
