Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It's a 2000 Diamondback Wildwood Deluxe 20"!
I found it on craigslist for $40! Seems like new with little to no wear on it. It fits me just fine and is a nice change to the older bso's (mountain bike) that I have been trying to fit into. And way better to ride around here (all gravel) than my schwinn traveler!

Oh I guess I need to introduce myself! I've been here a while just reading!
I'm 42 year old man from Missouri thats 6'5" and weight 350+ now! I need to get my but moving and get in better shape! I used to rise back when I was younger and still love too! But live seems to hand me other things to do rather than riding! And I live way too far from work to commute!
Any way it's good to find a place where like people enjoy hanging out and exchanging useful info!
I don't have alot of bike info to add to most conversations but that won't stop me from throwing my $.02 in!

I would get a better saddle, as that is a cheap-o one off a Huffy. Check the tires for dry-rot, lube the chain, and make sure the brakes work properly. You paid $40 for it, but taking it to a bike shop for a $50-$70 tune up will give you a good performing bike.

Yeah, I have planned to get a new saddle, that one is a bit small! The tires are in good shape and the brakes are ok but I plan to replace them anyway. As far as the fork lock out, I have no idea! I have just rode in around a few miles after I got it and they seem real soft to me! But then again I have only road older steel ridged frames!
I was pleasantly surprised when I got it home and found this sticker on it!

I'm not sure what the guy before me used to oil this thing?!? I just spent the better part of an hour cleaning things and didn't get all of it off the chain! It was sticky and thick with dirt! I think I took off a pound of crude!
I did find one problem with it! There is a few cracks in the middle front chain ring! Looks like this thing only ever ran on the middle ring. Next question us can I just change that one or do I need all new bb gears?
