Does anyone have info on Osgood-Schlatter syndrome? I mtb with my kids and my daughter has this problem. She plays b-ball so she is in good shape and it's no problem when she runs. When she rides her knee starts hurting after about 3 miles and really gives her problems on the climbs. She is 13 and has just started riding seriously, her brother is 11 and has been addicted to riding for 3 yrs.If anyone has any input on how to lessen the pain let me know. From what I understand she will grow out of it but she want's to continue to ride with the family.

I had it when I was 12/13 - nothing seemed to help, but I grew out of it soon thereafter.
Is her seat at the right height? Her leg should be almost fully extended at the bottom of the stroke. Too low of a seat height is very hard on the knees.

Her bike is set up right, I've been riding since '90 so I checked all the normal things. :D

i had/have it too, but it doesn't hurt anymore, i just had to grow out of it. taking some alieve before riding may help. also, trying to teach her to push an easier gear at a faster rpm. i found that the more resiatance i was pushing against, the more it hurt
